William Rikkers Dies Saturday; Funeral Services April 29

Funeral services were held at the First Reformed church at Hull at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, for William Rikkers, 79, a resident of the Sioux Center Nursing Wing off and on for several years and a longtime resident of Hull community, who died at the Sioux Center hospital Saturday. Services were conducted by the Reverend David Ter Beest and burial was made in Hope Cemetery at Hull.

Mr. Rikkers was born in The Netherlands and came to the United States at the age of 3. He was married to Tillie De Vries of Sioux Center in 1914. The couple farmed in the area until retiring and moving to Hull about five years ago.

Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Mrs. John Koerselman of Sheldon, Mrs. William Kosters of Orange City, Mrs. Herman Kekkenga of Chino, California; a son, Henry, of Sioux Center; three sisters, Mrs. Gertie Roetman, Mrs. Dick Oostenink and Mrs. Gerrit Oostenink, all of Hull; a brother, the Reverend John Rikkers, of Portland, Oregon; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
