Mrs. Vivian Post, age 90, of Orange City, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018, at the Happy Siesta Care Center in Remsen.

There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, November 14, at 11:00am, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Mark Vande Zande will officiate. Interment will be prior to the service at the Holman Township Cemetery at Sibley. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, November 13, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.

Vivian Marie was born on December 20, 1927, in Sibley, the daughter of Jess and Nora (Mickelson) Dagel. She was raised in Sibley, where she graduated from the high school.

On November 27, 1948, she married Andy Hugo Bents in Sibley. They farmed at Bigelow, Minnesota, until 1963, when they moved into Sibley. Andy passed away in June of 1964, in Sibley, after fifteen years of marriage.

On May 22, 1972, she married William Post in Sibley. They settled in Orange City. “Bill” passed away on December 17, 2002, in Sibley, after thirty years of marriage.

Vivian was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City and a former member of the First Baptist Church in Sibley.

She operated the Dutch Oven Bakery in Orange City for several years but was best known for assisting Bill with the maintenance, specifically lawn mowing, of the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City.
Mrs. Post enjoyed gardening, needlepoint, pets, flowers, and trips with her niece, Delores. She looked forward to Christmas.

Survivors include three sons, Doug Bents, and his wife, Dottie, of Bonifay, Florida; Ron Bents, and his wife, Carol, of Salem, South Dakota; and Henry Bents, and his friend, Marcia Koerselman, of Orange City; her daughter, Roben Bents, of Sheldon; a daughter-in-law, Barb Bents, of Peterson; a step-son, Don Post, and his wife, Ruth, of Orange City; two step-daughters, Mary Post, of Orange City; and Sandy, and her husband, Bob Gardner, of Worthington, Minnesota; thirteen grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; eleven step-great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Andy Bents, a daughter-in-law, ViAnn Bents; a grandson; and five brothers and three sisters, Alvina Hinkin, Glen Dagel, Fern Graves, Russel Dagel, Victor Dagel, Richard Dagel, Betty Bents, and Dale Dagel.
