From the Rock Valley Bee, March 6, 1931:

FORMER RESIDENT DEAD

Mr. and Mrs. James Thomas received a message this week advising them of the death of their brother-in-law, George P. Drew, which occurred Sunday, February 15, in Los Angeles, Calif. Mr. Drew is a former resident of Rock Valley, having moved away from here about twenty-five years ago. He was engaged in the jewelry business while here. He was buried at Fresno, California, where one of his sons is buried. He leaves his wife and one son, both living in California.

The 1900 U.S. census for Rock Valley shows George P. Drew, age 32, born Sept. 1867 in Illinois of English parents, married 5 years, an optician; his wife Cora, age 33, born Sept. 1866 in Iowa; their two sons, Leigh (Oct. 1897) and Alfred (Nov. 1898), both born in Iowa; living with Cora’s mother Lucretia Klein, age 53, a widow, and two of Lucretia’s other children, Amy (14) and Carl (11).

The Sioux County marriage register for the year ending October 1895 shows groom George Parris Drew, age 26, residence Rock Valley, a jeweler, born in Lena, Illinois, parents Alferd[?] Drew and Matilda E. Paris; bride Cora Ida Klein, age 27, residence Rock Valley; born in Baraboo, Wisconsin, parents Augustine Klein and Lucretia J. Birum; married in Rock Valley January 1, 1895

The 1910 U.S. census for Kensal, Stutsman County, North Dakota shows George P. Drew (41), married 15 years, a farmer (general farm); wife Cora J. (41), born in Wisconsin; sons Lee K. (14) and Alfred A. (12).

The 1930 U.S. census shows George P. Drew (60, born Illinois) and wife Cora I. or J. (61, born Wisconsin) living in National City, San Diego County, California. He has no occupation.
