RITES WEDNESDAY FOR ALTON PIONEER, MRS. HERMAN RIEDEMAN

Mrs. Herman Riedeman, pioneer resident here and among the oldest of our senior residents, died Monday morning, December 3rd at the Orange City Hospital where she had been a patient for a short time. Her age was 93 years, 10 months and 25 days.

Dena Rexwinkel was born at Alton, Wisconsin, January 8, 1869, and came to this vicinity at the age of four years with her pioneer parents, Hendrik and Berendina (Kleinhesselink) Rexwinkel.

For 89 years she lived in Alton and vicinity, seeing the country change from a treeless
prairie to a land of prosperous farms and attractive towns.

She was married December 20th, 1893 to Herman Riedeman. To this union seven children were born, her husband and three children having preceded her in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Jeanette) Camblier of Alton, Iowa; and three sons: William H. of Waupun, Wisconsin; Raymond J. of Sanborn; and Dr. D. J. of Alton.

Also surviving are four grandchildren: Mrs. Virginia Templeton of Laramie, Wyoming, William H. Reideman Jr., Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Mrs. Helen Horn, Madison, Wisconsin,; Marlene Reideman of Wausau, Wisconsin.

Mrs. Reideman was a faithful member of the Alton Reformed Church, a loving wife and mother and a kind neighbor and friend.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at the First Reformed Church, Reverend Meyer officiating and arrangements in charge of Van Etten Funeral Services. Mrs. John Freriks sang, accompanied by Mrs. D. Te Brink. Interment was in Nassau Township Cemetery.
