On Tuesday evening at 9 o'clock, Mrs. Gerrit Rexwinkel of this city died, after an illness extending over two years. The immediate cause of her death was inflammation. The funeral was very large and occurred from the Reformed Church on Thursday afternoon.

Mrs. Rexwinkle had been a patient sufferer for a long time, but with true Christian fortitude never complained and never despaired. She died in the hope of a blessed immortality beyond the grave and her faith was sublime and beautiful. She was a good woman and made the world better for having lived in it. A model wife, an obliging neighbor, and a true Christian, her death will be universally mourned in this community.

Mrs. Rexwinkle was the daughter of Arie Kuyper, residing north of Alton. She was 33 years of ago and had been married 12 years. No children survive.
