Mrs. Metta Marie Adelheld Riebeling, a resident of Sheridan Township, passed away at the Rock Valley Hospital last Saturday, October 11th, at two o’clock in the afternoon, at the age of sixty years, eight months and twenty-five days. She had been in poor health for some time.

She was born January 16th, 1853, at Langenstrasse, Harmover, Germany. She came to the United States and settled in Sioux County in 1886. In 1887 she became the wife of Andrias Riebeling, who has preceded her to the spirit world.

Four children were born to this union, Mrs. August Soehl of Boyden, Peter Riebeling of Hull, John Riebeling of Elkton, South Dakota and Henry Riebeling of Hull, Iowa.

She is survived by two brothers and a sister, Mrs. Metta Goetsch of Echo, Minnesota, August Werner of Luedingworth, Harmover, Germany, and Peter Reyelts of Rock Rapids, Iowa.

She was a devout member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and highly respected by all who knew her.

The funeral services were conducted from St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lincoln Township on Tuesday, October 14th, and interment was made in the Lincoln Township Cemetery.
