Conrad L. Collins. 69, of Hawarden, died Friday, March 15, 2002 at the Hillcrest Health Care Center in Hawarden. A memorial service was held Wednesday, March 20, at Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden, with the Reverend Dean Shelly officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Ireton.

Conrad LeRoy Collins was born October 8, 1932 in Ireton, to Harry and Emma (Reed) Collins. He attended Ireton School, graduating in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army and worked construction in the Hawarden area.

Survivors include his special friend, Alberta Altena of Hawarden; brother, Leon of Lake Park, Iowa; three sisters, Bonnie Newberg of Alcester, Carol Alesch of Marcus and Bonita "Kay" Antrim of Montrose, South Dakota; brother-in-law, J. Rocky Fronk of Spirit Lake; sisters-in-law, Cora Collins Bell of Hawarden, Irma Collins Heimbeurger of Topeka, Kansas, Alice Collins of Truman, Minnesota, Delores Collins of Washington, Pennsylvania and Susan Collins of Topeks, Kansas; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert, Glenn, Edwin "Bill", Ben, Arlin, Dwight and Richard; and sisters, Dorothy, Betty and Mary.
