MRS. CATHERINE RIELLY CALLED

Mrs. Catherine -Shevelan Rielly passed away at her home in Rock Valley Saturday morning, following a brief illness. Mrs. Rielly was taken sick Wednesday of last week. Her condition was not regarded as serious until Friday evening when she became every much worse and continued to fail until the final summons came, Saturday morning.

Mrs. Rielly was born in Belmullet, County Mayo. Ireland, December 10, 1855, where she spent her early life and grew to womanhood. She came to America in 1880, and lived at Richmond, Wisconsin, until 1892, when the family moved to this vicinity and located on a farm northwest of Rock Valley where they lived until they moved to Rock Valley in 1918. Mr. Thomas C. Rielly passed away January 6, 1922.

Mrs. Rielly was a woman who was highly respected and loved by all who knew her. She was a great comfort to her family and friends who miss very her much.

Mrs. Rielly was the mother of thirteen children, three of whom have preceded her in death. The children living are: Mrs. P. Tuymnan, Patrick, John, William, Mary and Margaret, all of Rock Valley and vicinity, Thomas, of Rapid City, South Dakota; William, Pontiac, Michigan; Sister Alexander, Ackley, Iowa. All were here for the funeral services except Edward, who was too ill to come. Other relatives from a distance who came here for the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. John Gallagher, Waverly, Iowa; Peter Gallagher, Mason City, Iowa, and Sadie Moran, of St. Paul, Minnesota.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning in St. Mary’s Church in Rock Valley. The services were largely attended by many friends of the family. Solemn Requiem High Mass was called by Celebrant Reverend Father A.J. Forester of Rock Valley, Deacon Reverend Father A. Lynott, Vail, Iowa; Sub-deacon Reverend Father E. McEvoy, of Ruthven, Iowa; Master of Ceremonies Reverend Father E. Kehoe, of Hartford, South Dakota, Sermon by the Very Reverend E. Masterson, Fort Dodge, Iowa. Attending in the Sanctuary were Reverend Father T. Manning, Hartford, South Dakota; and Reverend Father J.B. Gretteman, of Struble, Iowa.
