FUNERAL SERVICES FOR JOSEPH REIM AT GRANVILLE THURSDAY

Funeral services were held at St. Joseph Church, Granville Thursday morning, April 17 for Joseph Reim, well known resident who died at the Orange City hospital April 14 after a year’s illness. Reverend J.J. Dalhoff officiated at the Requiem Mass.

Joseph Reim was born April 27, 1880 at Roknitz, Bohemia, and came to the United States when a young man. He was married in 1908 at the local Granville Church to Miss Anna Huebner. Three daughters and a son were born to the couple, all of whom survive their father, together with Mrs. Reim. They are Mrs. S.R. Sipma (Mary) of Sioux City; Mrs. Paul Hurd (Elizabeth) of Le Mars; Mrs. Ray Budden (Gertrude) of Granville; Charles Reim of Garfield, New Jersey. Also surviving is his sister, Johanna of Schmollenberg, Germany; and four grandchildren; Carol Ann and Paul Michael Hurd, Judy Ann Budden and Charlene Reim.

Attending the funeral were the three daughters and their families: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hurd of Sheldon and numerous friends from the community, where he was held in high regard.

Pallbearers were F. Schemmel, Jr., Henry Schnurr, Henry Moos, John Hodapp, Edmund Obermann and Joseph Schwarz. Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery where Reverend Zeno Reising read graveside service.
