Mrs. Esther Aalberts, age 84 of Orange City, passed away Monday, April 20, in the Long Term Care Facility of the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

The memorial service was held on Thursday, April 23, at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City. The Reverend Raymond E. Weiss officiated. Interment was prior to the service at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City. The Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City was in charge of arrangements.

Esther Geraldine was born November 23, 1913, at Maurice, the daughter of James Samuel and Wilhelmina (Apenhorst) Duven.

When she was six years old, her family moved to Orange City, where she later attended Northwestern College.

On June 9, 1937, she married Alfred Theodore Aalberts in Orange City. They continued to make their home in Orange City. Mr. Aalberts passed away November 16, 1986, in Orange City.

In 1995, Mrs. Aalberts became a resident of the Long Term Care Facility. She was an active member of the Trinity Reformed Church, where she had been a leader in the earlier years. She also belonged to the Northwestern College Auxiliary.

Survivors include her two sons, Leon, and his wife, of Oswega, Illinois; and James, of Zeeland, Michigan; her daughter and her husband, Linda and Harry Tysen of Salina, Kansas; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a brother, Howard Duven of Spokane, Washington; and a sister, Edith Ver Steeg of Tigard, Oregon.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson; a brother, Stanley Duven; and a sister, Leona Grooters. Memorials are being directed to the Restless Legs Syndrome Foundation, Inc., 304 Glenwood Avenue; Raleigh, North Carolina 27603-1455.
