SUE RATLIFF DIES SATURDAY IN AUTO WRECK

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Charles Ratliff, 21, the former Sue Ann Kratochvil of Hawarden who was killed in a one-car accident west of the city on highway 13 Saturday afternoon.

The accident occurred about 3:30 P.M. when her car ran into a ditch and overturned, throwing her clear of the vehicle.

She was born March 2, 1940, in Hawarden where she attended grade and high school. She married Charles Ratliff March 5, 1964, and lived in Colorado until returning last January. She was a member of the Associated Church.

Funeral services were conducted by Dow Funeral Home and held at the Associated Church with Reverend Herbert Young officiating. Mrs. Shoemaker was organist and Mrs. Ralph Gregg, Jr., was soloist, singing “In the Garden” and “How Great Thou Art.”

Casket bearers were Jerry Kratochvil, Gary Kratochvil, Lee Kratochvil, Greg Kane, Matt Kane, and Kevin Reppe. Interment was in Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden. Mrs. Ratliff had been employed at Kane’s Dressed Reef.

Survivors include the widower of Brighton, Colorado; parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Kratochvil of Hawarden; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Kratochvil of Alcester, and the maternal grandfather, Fred Pluss of Sioux Falls.
