Mr. G. S. De Mots, Hull died Sept 10
The many friends and acquaintances were saddened Wednesday morning when it became known that Mr. G. S. DeMots had passed away at the local hospital at 8:20 p. m. Tuesday September 10, 1946 after being confined to the hospital only since Sunday afternoon. Mr. De Mots who would have been 75 years old his next birthday in January , had suffered for the past six or eight months with a heart condition, which although slowing him down, did not give his friends any cause to think that his earthly existence was so close to the end. However, last Sunday he suffered a severe spell and was taken to the hospital. Mr. De Mots came to Hull as a young man in the early 1899's and was engaged in the jewelry and optical business for many years. He was united in marriage to Miss Carrie E. Dillon a school teacher at Hull on August 7th 1899. To this union four children were born, two of whom survive. They are Esther Mrs. John Cluff of Portland Maine, and Scott D. DeMots of Sioux City. Also, surviving are three grandchildren Esther Mae and John Scott Cluff and Randall Scott De Mots. Mr. De Mots was preceded in death by a small daughter, Ruth Neal who passed away in early childhood; Mrs. De Mots who died in March of 1932; and Miss Carol, who passed away in June of 1941. Mr. De Mots had made his home in Hull for the past fifty-five years except for three years.
