Mary F. Suter Orton was born in Baltimore, Maryland, October 21, 1855, so had attained an age of 64 years, 1 month and 4 days. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and a member of the W.R.C. of Ireton.

Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters and one son, Mrs. Russa Orton Turner of Artesian, South Dakota, Mrs. Ruth Coons and John Orton of Ireton; also eight grandchildren are left to mourn, one sister, Mrs. C.R. Mallonee of Baltimore, Maryland and four brothers, Rufus of Baltimore, Maryland, William of Malta, Montana, John of Chicago and Emory Suter of Rock Valley. Her aged father, Major Martin Suter, preceded her in death three years ago at the age of 96.

In 1879, she was united in marriage with Alexander Elliot in Chicago. To this union three children were born. After his death she came to Maurice where in the year 1890 she married Edgar I. Orton. For a number of years they lived on a farm and eleven years ago they moved to Ireton.

We express our deep sympathy to the bereaved husband and children in the loss of wife and mother and may the memory of her be one of the precious things which will not fade away.
