Henry Kipp, a former resident of Granville, but now of Remsen, died at the LeMars hospital at nine o'clock Monday morning. Mr. Kipp had been in poor health for sometime, but was not taken seriously ill until about a week before his death. He was rushed to LeMars in a car Saturday night and was operated upon the next morning for gallstones, but adhesions, obstructions and peritonitis were also found. The operation was a long and very serious one and no hope was given from the start. Mr. Kipp was born in Festina, Ia., forty five years ago. With his parents he moved to Geddes, S.D., when he was about eight years old, and remained there until his eighteenth year. Then he went to Remsen and in 1898 he was married to Miss Mary Daldrup. They were in the restaurant business in Granville for some years. From here they again went to Remsen and four years ago they moved to Geddes, S.D. When Mr. Kip's health failed last fall he decided to again move to Remsen. Mr. Kipp leaves a wife and four small children, Celesta, Florence, Melvin and Mildred, three sisters and five brothers. Two sons preceded him in death some years ago. Funeral services were held at St. Mary's church in Remsen Thursday morning. A number from Granville attended the funeral.
