Marie B. Clepper, 88, Lennox, South Dakota, died Friday, October 4, at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 8, at the First English Lutheran Church in Lennox. Interment was in Hope Cemetery, Hull.

Marie Boots was born at Bayard on December 8, 1913, the daughter of Lawrence and Lorena (Rawlings) Boots. She was raised in Bayard and attended public school there. She then attended Simpson College in Indianola where she received a degree in elementary education. She taught school for five years in Bayard and Melvin.

On December 24, 1937, she married Dr. Ivan Oelrich in Sioux Falls. They lived in Lennox their entire married life. Dr. Oelrich died February 9, 1969. She was married to LeRoy W. Dindot on May 2, 1970, in Lennox where they continued to live. He died October 10, 1983. She was united in marriage to John H. Clepper on April 14, 1984. They made their home in Lennox throughout their married life.

Marie was an active and faithful member of First English Lutheran Church in Lennox. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years and was a member of the Lennox Senior Citizens. She also belonged to the Phi Beta Phi Honorary Sorority at Simpson College.

Besides her parents and her first two husbands, she was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. She was the last surviving member of the Lawrence Boots family.

Survivors include her husband, John Clepper, of Lennox; Her step-daughter, Betty “Lisle” Stabrawa and her husband, George, of Chancellor; her step-daughter Kristine Stabrawa of Olympia, Washington; plus several nieces and nephews.
