Mrs. Gideon Lieb, 84, died Saturday, August 16, 1980, at a Rockford, Illinois Hospital after a brief illness.

Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. The Reverend Francis Nemmers will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery under the direction of Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen.

The former Theresa Welter was born October 15, 1895, at Granville. She married Vincent J. O’Conner, September 14, 1920, at Olivia, Minnesota. Mr. O’Connor died January 9, 1954. She married Gideon Lieb on September 24, 1962, at Carroll.

Mrs. Lieb lived in the Granville area most of her life. She organized the Senior Citizens Club in Granville and was active in community affairs. She was a bookkeeper at Beck’s Store in Granville for many years.

Mrs. Lieb was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include the widower; one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Rita) Armstrong of Rockford, Illinois; three stepdaughters: Mrs. Bob (Betty) Porter of Hospers, Mrs. Jerry Kassy) Rebensdorf of Phoenix, Mrs. Nancy McDonough of Lakewood, California; 11 grandchildren; and one brother, Sil Welter of Minneapolis.
