Hofman, S. no dates buried in Nassau township cemetery Alton IA (WPA Index) This turned out to be Sikke Hofma or Hofman born 1841-1918

(Note from submitter. No death dates to go on to find obits for him or his wife. No headstones in the cemetery. Had to have died before 1939 as that was when they were noted on the 1939 WPA cemetery index. To solve the identity of such persons lost to time can be quite a journey. To transverse many records which finally led me to who this couple were who laid in an unmarked grave.)

His birth record shows he was the son of Jan Franzes Hofma and Aukjen Sikkes Koepstra, born
12 Jan 1841 at Wonseradeel, Friesland.
