(Note from submitter. No death dates to go on to find obits for him or his wife. No headstones in the cemetery. Had to have died before 1939 as that was when they were noted on the 1939 WPA cemetery index. To solve the identity of such persons lost to time can be quite a journey. Transversing many records finally led me to who this couple were who lay in an unmarked grave, even forgotten by family it appears.)

Marriage records of daughter – Tjitske “Tillie” Hofman married 2 Feb 1897 Atlon IA age 20 1877 married Gerad Oldenkamp. She was daughter of Sikke Hofma and Leentje Lamertsma.

Another daughter Tryntje Hofman born 4 Feb 1871 married 1 Jan 1895 to John Sieswerda (Wierda) at Orange City IA. Tryntje was born in Witmarsum, Friesland,

Sikke Jans Hofman was born 21 Jan 1841 Witmarsum and Leentje Hessels Lammertsma was born 8 Feb 1840 at Witmarsum. Also immigrated with them daughters Aukjen born 28 Oct 1873 and Tjitske born 19 Oct 1876. They immigrated 1 July 1898 from Wonseradeel to USA.
