From the Alton Democrat, January 10, 1930, Granville news:

Laura, the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schumacher, passed away Thursday, Jan. 2. Her death was due to convulsions. She was 8 months old at the time of her death. Funeral services were held at St. Joseph’s church on Saturday at 9 o’clock. She is survived by five sisters and seven brothers.

Her death certificate has Laura Marie Schumacher, born in Granville April 17, 1929; parents Joseph Schumacher and Anna Meyer, both born in Luxemburg; died at 3:30 p.m. January 2, 1930, of acute gastritis and convulsions; buried at Granville.
