Miss Elizabeth Buenkers passed from this life at her home north of town on Thursday afternoon March 25 at 3:30, following a long illness of cancer of the stomach. Deceased was born in Dyersville December 11, 1877. When a girl she moved from there with her parents to Granville where she resided until death claimed her. She leaves to mourn her death, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Buenkers, six brothers and four sisters. They are, John and Henry of Dell Rapids, S.D., Anton of Madison, Minn., Frank of Mahnomon, Minn., Mrs. J. Graff, Clara, Otto, Emil, Lenore and Munda of this place. Miss Buenkers was a good Christian woman and of a very amiable disposition. She was beloved by all who knew her. Funeral services were conducted at St. Joseph's church Monday morning at nine o'clock by Rev. J.A. Gerleman. Interment was made in St. Joseph's cemetery. The relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Buenkers and Miss Philoment, John, Dell Rapids, S.D., Frank Buenkers Of Mahnomen, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Anton Buenkers of Madison, Minn., John Yungelut of Jessup, Ia., Anna Yungelut of Gilbertsville, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Barney Buenkers, Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Buenkers, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Raker, Mrs. Herman Deitering, Mrs. Schultz, Mrs. Herman Buenkers and Miss Philomena, John, Theodore and Fred Buenkers of Remsen. The pall bearers were Misses Mary Roeder, Philomene Wiltgen, Mary Obermann, Katie Warner, Theresa Marx and Mathilda Goebel. Some of the out-of-town friends who were at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Friedman, Mr. and Mrs. Math Herrig, Mike Gasper, Mr. and Mrs. Math Kellen, and Miss Alice Lieb of Alton: John, George and Miss Rose Jungers and John H. Ramacle of Hospers.
