Miss Nell Klein of Sioux City passed away at the home of her sister Dr and Mrs. Phil Scott at Spirit Lake on Friday, August 23, 1946. she had been ill for many months due to a tumor on the brain which resulted in blindness She was 46 years of age.

Surviving her are the three sisters Miss Harriet Klein R.N. of New York Cressie (Mrs. Wm. De Bruyn) of Pella; and Alice (Mrs. Phil Scott) of Spirit Lake, Iowa. she was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit Klein, her mother passing away in April 1900 and her father passing away about two years ago. Miss Klein taught school at Sioux City for the past seventeen years.

Funeral services were held at Sioux City on Monday afternoon with Rev. Raymond Meengs officiating. Burial took place at the local cemetery. Going to Sioux City from here to attend the services were Her. and Mrs. Meengs, Mr. and Mrs. George De Ruyter and Mr. and Mrs. Maurice- Te Paske. A group of thirty teachers and close friends from Sioux City came here to attend the grave side, services. Also present at the services here were four of her class mates Mrs. Dick Raak Mrs. Teunis Den Herder, Mrs. Wm. Doornink of Orange City and Mrs. Charles J, De Vries also of Orange City. After the services at the cemetery all of the relatives and friends that attended were invited to the home of Mrs. -Anthony Te Paske where a lunch was served. She was assisted by Mrs. John. E. Vander Berg, Mrs. Jake Van Steenwyk. Mrs. Geo. De Ruyter and Gertrude Jansen.
