William Moret Sr. was born July 12, 1856 at Pella, Iowa and died November 28, 1950 at the age of 94 years, four months and 16 days. At the age of 17 he came to Sioux County with his parents, Leonard and Sophia (Synhorst)Moret.

On March 18, 1876 he was married to Hendrika Luymes, who died on October 7, 1938.

Mr. Moret is survived by one daughter, Hattie, Mrs. Jacob Nieuwendorp of Sheldon, and fours sons, Leonard, Robert, Hugo and John, all of Boyden; 26 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren also mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his wife and one son, Herman.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the First Reformed Church led by Reverend C. Postma. Burial was in the Boyden Cemetery.
