Leroy "Bud" Moret passed away Tuesday, March 18, at the Carle Clinic in Urbana, Illinois, where he was a patient since January 25, 1969. He attained the age of 36 years, 7 months and 24 days.

Leroy James Moret, son of William J. and Jeanette (Rons) Moret, was born on July 22, 1932, on a farm southeast of Boyden. He served with the U. S. Air Force 4 years during the Korean War.

He married Verna Kroese on December 3, 1952, in the Christian Reformed Church in Hull.

They resided at Wilmington, Illinois, the past four years. He was operating engineer for Simpson Construction at the present.

He was an active member of the Presbyterian Church in Wilmington and served as Trustee. He was a past president of the Finance Building Committee and a past president of the Trustees Committee. He was also a member of the Wilmington Lions Club.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Jeanette Rons Moret in July, 1956; his father, William J. Moret, March of 1968; a daughter, Mary Kaye in February 1965 and a son, James Allen, in June, 1967.

Services were held Thursday March 20 at 5:00 p.m. at Des Rochers Funeral Home in Wilmington, Illinois. On Saturday, March 22, 1:30 p.m. funeral services were held at the 1st Reformed Church of Boyden. Reverend Henry Schoon officiated.
