No obituary was readily found.
Note: Found a cemetery record that he was born 20 Oct 1851 died 9 Jun 1901 burial location SD, Sioux cemetery Fairview. This leads to speculation he lived near Fairview SD but was buried just over the line to the east in Sioux county. However checking the census for 1900 for Sioux county IA or Lincoln and Union county in SD had no listing for John Jenkins.
