Services held for Lloyd Brown, 44 died Thursday after long illness. Lloyd A. Brown, 44, longtime resident of Inwood, died Thursday at a Sioux Falls, hospital following a long illness. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 28, at the Pioneer Methodist church in Rock Valley with the Rev. Mervin Nelson officiating.
Burial was in Richland Cemetery at Inwood, under the direction of the Porter Funeral Home. Mr. Brown was born Feb. 20, 1921, at Inwood. He married Lorena Menning Nov. 8, 1942, at Sioux Center. (Following service in World War II, he farmed in the Inwood area until December of 1964). He then moved to Rock Valley and was employed as an associate with a breeders association until June of this year, when he was taken to the Veterans Administration hospital. Mr. Brown was a member of Golden Sheaf Lodge, AF & AM, of the Masons at Rock Valley, and the consistory of Sioux City.
Survivors include the widow; two sons, Donald in Viet Nam end Wayne at home; three daughters, Mary Jo, Sylvia and Janet, all at home; the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Brown of Inwood; four sisters, Mrs. Gerrit DeVries of Fairview, S D., Mrs. Herman Hefiron of Ventura, Calif., Mrs. Bert Coffin of LeMars and Mrs. Dale Skadsen of Sioux Falls.
