MARY MCGRANN DIED ON MONDAY

Mrs. Mary McGrann passed away at 5:30 Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Lillian Wagner, after a long illness. She was removed to the home of Mrs. Wagner on Wednesday of last week.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock this afternoon at the Barnard Funeral Home, with Reverend Clarence Hanscom, pastor of the Associated Church, in charge. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Mary Amelia Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Miller, was born on June 13, 1861 at Kenville, New Jersey and passed away November 29, 1943, in Hawarden, having attained the age of 82 years, 5 months and 16 days. The family moved to Chester, New Jersey. She was united in marriage with John McGrann at Dover, New Jersey and to this union were born seven children.

About 60 years ago Mr. and Mrs. McGrann came to Hawarden and he was employed by the North Western Railway Company. Ten years later they moved to Eagle Grove. While in Eagle Grove she united with the Presbyterian Church and was an ardent worker in that organization. In 1915, Mr. McGrann died in Mexico, where he was employed on a railroad. Last December 15, Mrs. Grann returned to Hawarden to make her home.

The children who survive her are Mrs. Lulu Dunn of Los Angles, California; Mrs. S.C. Haninan of Belmont, Iowa; Owen L. McGrann of Omaha; Leon McGrann of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Walter McGrann of Hawarden. She is also survived by one brother, William Miller of Twin Falls, Idaho, and one sister, Mrs. John Rockefeller of Chester, New Jersey. 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
