Terry Arthur McGilvra was born on March 10, 1943 and passed into his heavenly home on August 18, 2017 at Taylor House Hospice from complications of a bleeding ulcer.

Terry married Debbie Cosner on May 17, 1968 in Princeton, Missouri.

Terry attended Hope College and Iowa State University where he graduated with a BA in accounting. He was an auditor for the State Of Iowa for 40 years. Terry served in the Army from 1968 to 1970 at Fort Belvoir, VA.

Terry enjoyed going to the Iowa Cubs games, watching Menace soccer games, bowling, square dancing, and golfing before his Parkinson’s advanced and attending his children’s activities.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Debbie, children, Shane (Hsiu Li), Shelley (Jeff) Brouwer, Tammy Helm, Chad (fiancé, Logan), Tina, Jeremy, Breann (Ben) Rogers, Jordan and Brittany, sisters, Sue (Kevin) Drey, Sally (Tim) Baar, 14 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter, mother in-law, Joan Cumings, step mother in-law Gloria Cosner and countless family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Grace Church 4200 E. 25th St. in Des Moines on Saturday, August 26th, 2017 with visitation beginning at noon followed by a memorial service at 1:00.
