Melvin Konz

Melvin, three-months-old son of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Konz of Alton, died Saturday, January 12th, after a brief illness. The baby is survived by his parents, three sisters and three brothers, Margaret, Leola, Viola, Cletus, Francis and Robert, all of whom have the deep sympathy of the community in their loss. Funeral services were held Monday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic church, in charge of Reverend Hansmann. Relatives here from a distance were Nick Konz and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tastove of Adrian, Minn.; Peter Kramer of Wilmont, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Nick Hoffman of Remsen.

The Sioux County Cemetery Index has Konz, Melvin, b. 1928, d. 1929, son of John P. & Theresa, St. Marys Cem Alton IA.

Researcher Wilma J. Vande Berg found that the Alton St. Mary’s church book shows Melvin as an infant son of John P. and Theresa Mousel Konz. They had eight children; two died in infancy, Melvin and Ferdinand. See the obits of the parents for more family information. John P. died 1983 and Theresa died 1972.
