From the Alton Democrat, December 21, 1928, Hull news

Bert Bomgaars who has been employed by Bomgaars Bros. as their Ford agent, passed away very suddenly Monday morning [Dec. 17], at the home of Mrs. Arie Bomgaars, where he had been living. Last Saturday Bert went home as he had a bad cold and on Monday, feeling somewhat better he thought he would go to work and was in the act of telephoning, when he fell to the floor. A weak heart was the cause of his sudden death.

From the Sioux County Index (Hull), December 21, 1928:

BERT BOMGAARS DIES

The sudden death of Mr. Bert Bomgaars, an uncle of the Bomgaars Bros., of Hull, at his home at Middleburg, was reported in Hull, Monday morning. He had not been feeling any too well Saturday and Sunday and on Monday morning thought he would call the boys here on the phone and tell them that he would not report for work until he was feeling better. He stepped to the phone, reached for the receiver, and fell over dead.

Mr. Bomgaars was one of the Ford salesmen for Bomgaars Brothers at this place. [He] was a single man, fifty-two years old. He is survived by several brothers and sisters. The funeral was held Wednesday.
