Elmer L. Heisig, former resident, dies at age 83

Elmerr L. Heisig, 83, former resident and brother of Mrs. Lee Schlecty, Rock Valley, died July 12 at Elgin, N. D., and services were held at Morristown Wednesday, July 15. Mr. Heisig was born at Preston July 16, 1881, and came here in 1885. He moved to North Dakota in 1912 where he farmed and raised stock
.
Survivors include his widow, Pauline (Berts) whom he married in 1920 and six sisters, among them Mrs. Schlecty and Mrs. L. J. Elbert, Doon. While here he was active in baseball and along with the late W. B. Richter operated a threshing rig. They are credited with introducing the first gasoline engine into the area.
