At his residence, two miles northeast of Maurice, Jacob Ludens died after a brief illness. He was laid to rest at West Lawn Cemetery, Orange City, Sioux County, Iowa.

Mr. Ludens was one of the first settlers of Sioux County. He was a good neighbor and a respected citizen. His loss will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
