Obituary: Hodgin Died on Thursday morning last, at the home of his brother in law in Dakota of typhoid fever, George Hodgin of Calliope aged 19 years.

George well know in Calliope and Hawarden and respected by all who knew him. He was a goo and kind hearted boy and will be sadly missed among his young associates. The stricken parents have the sincere sympathy of a host of friends among which the Independent numbers. Mr. Hodgin at the time of George’s death was very low with the same disease and though not yet much improved it is hoped he will soon be around again.

Note: George L. Hodgin born 23 Nov 1867 died 1 Sep 1887 son of Elisha Hodgin 1839-1889 and Elizabeth Vernon 1841-1914. He was a brother of William E. Hodgin 1871-1882.
