Funeral services for Mrs. Chris Hollander were held Friday at 1:30 in the Henry Steuven home and at the St. John's Lutheran church near Boyden. The Rev. Henry Knoploh officiated at the services. Mrs. Hollander passed away Monday night at the Sheldon hospital, shortly following her return to the hospital from the Anchorage Convalescent home in Sheldon, where she had previously been cared for. She leaves to mourn her passing: a son, Herman C Hollander, of George; and a daughter Minnie Mrs. Henry Steuven of Matlock, three grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Her husband Chris Hollander passed away June 5, 1955. Mr. and Mrs. Hollander moved to George in 1947, where they lived until the death of Mr. Hollander. They had formerly farmed in this community. Mrs. Hollander made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Steuven, until she needed nursing care. Burial took place in the St. John's Lutheran cemetery under the direction of the Vogelaar Funeral Service with the Rev. Henry Knoploh, the officiating pastor.
