Florence Kuiper, 69, former teacher, died Thursday, July 28, 1994, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, after a long illness.

Florence Wynia was born July 1, 1925, in Avon. She graduated from Springfield High School and Springfield State Teachers College.

She married Theodore “Ted” Kuiper June 17, 1944, in Springfield. They continued living there where she taught in country schools until moving to Rock Valley. She did bookkeeping for her husband and was story hour director at the Rock Valley Public Library for many years. She worked at Kooima Manufacturing from 1984 to 1989.

Survivors include her husband, Ted, of Rock Valley; two sons: Barry of Hawarden, Iowa and Brad of Des Moines, Iowa; one daughter, Pam Diesing of Minneapolis; three grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. John (Grace) Vavra of Utica.

Services were held at 1:30 P.M. Monday at the Pioneer United Methodist Church in Rock Valley with burial in Valley View Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley was in charge of arrangements.
