Funeral services for Mrs. Herman Van Der Ploeg, 45, former Marie De Bruin were held on Monday, March 30, at Wesley.
Mrs. Van Der Ploeg was killed in an auto accident near Wesley March 26. She was born September 12, 1918 and lived in the Rock Valley area and was a graduate of the Rock Valley Christian school. She attended Western Christian High and Calvin college at Grand Rapids, and later worked at Presbyterian hospital in Chicago. She married Herman Vander Ploeg February 14, 1946.
Survivors include her husband, one daughter; Kathy, 15, and three sons, Bruce 13, Arlyn 8, and Douglas 6, her parents Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit De Bruin, one sister, Mrs. John Van Sloten; five brothers, Gerrit, John Peter, Harvey and Stanley, and her grandmother Mrs. Marie De Bruin.
