From the Hawarden Independent, September 1, 1927:

DIES TEN DAYS AFTER MOTHER
Helen Meneely Passed Away Wednesday From Typhoid Fever

Death entered the Lawrence Meneely home, five miles southwest of Hawarden, for the second time in ten days about 4 o’clock Wednesday afternoon and claimed Helen, the only child of Mr. Meneely, after an illness of about three weeks from typhoid fever. Mrs. Meneely passed away just ten days earlier from the same dread disease, and Mr. Meneely is also confined to his bed suffering from the same malady. The source of the disease has not been definitely traced but it apparently was confined to this one home.

Helen Meneely was born Feb. 4, 1914, so was only 13 years, 6 months and 27 days old at the time of her death. She had lived most of her life on a farm in South Dakota. The father and other relatives surely have the deepest sympathy of the entire community in this affliction which has been visited upon them.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Friday afternoon at the Sumner Funeral Home in this city with the Rev. J. W. LaGrone, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church of Hawarden, in charge, and interment will be made in the Alcester cemetery beside the newly made grave of her mother.

Her mother’s obituary (posted separately) spells the family surname Meneeley.

FindaGrave.com has Helen V. Meneely, with a photo of her headstone showing her born Feb. 3, 1914 and died Aug. 31, 1927. It gives her birth place as South Dakota, and her death place as Alcester, S.D.; buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Alcester.
