John Langenhorst passed away at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Le Mars on Monday, November 21 at the age of 91 years and 5 days. He was born on November 16, 1858 in Suffruf, Hanover, Germany and came to America with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clem and Marie (Fulla) Langenhorst in 1871. He married Balbina Peters in 1888, who preceded him in death in 1943, also a son, Felix who passed away in 1936 and a daughter Balbina, Mrs. George Hartman who died in 1945.

Surviving are 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Joseph Steichen of Alton and a brother, Peter Langenhorst of Sheldon and his son-in-law, George Hartman of Iona, Minnesota, and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Rose Langenhorst.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at St. Anthony’s Church with Reverend Jno. Teonissen officiating. Burial was in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
