Mrs. Dena Van Maanen, 85, Rock Valley, died Monday, Jan. 27 at the Sioux Center nursing home after a long illness.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Porter Funeral home and at 1:30 p.m. at the First Christian Reformed church at Rock Valley. Rev John Byker officiated.
Burial was in Valley View cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Gerald Jr. Van't Hul, Orville Van't Hul, Roger Kempema, Delmar Van Maanen, Dennis Van Maanen,
Mrs. Van Maanen was born June 23, 1878 at Alton. She was married to Dick Van Maanen Februrary 23, 1910, at Sioux Center. They farmed in the Rock Valley Community and retired in 1947. He died in 1949.

Survivors include four sons, Henry, John, and Dick of Rock Valley and Gerrit of Doon. Two daughters, Mrs. Bert Vant Hul and Mrs. John Kempema of Rock Valley, and 25 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
