WALTER C. WARNTJES

Walter C. Warntjes Sr., 80, of Rock Valley died Wednesday in a hospital at Rock Valley of long illness. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Calvin Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. Edward Knott officiated. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery. Visitation was from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today in the Porter Funeral Home.

Mr. Warntjes was born Aug. 8, 1903, in Maurice where he attended high school. He married Etta Druyvesteyn Feb. 24, 1926, at Hull. During his early years, he worked as a mechanic in Hull, Orange City and Rock Valley. He started the Chevrolet dealership in Rock Valley in 1950. In 1956 he moved to California where he was a mobile home salesman. In 1966 he moved to Arkansas where he managed apartments, moving to Rock Valley in 1969.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Walter Jr. of Rock Valley; one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Jacqueline) Edgington of Ontario, Calif.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
