Mrs. Gerrit Kuyper, 83, of Sioux Center, died Thursday in the Sioux Center Hospital after a brief illness.

Services were held at 10:30 A.M. Monday in Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center. The Reverends Albert Ten Klay and Dennis Wilcox officiated. Burial was in Carmel Cemetery in Rock Valley.

The former Maria Hulshof was born July 20, 1899, to Evert and Petronella "Nellie" (Remmerde) Hulshof and spent her youth in the Sioux Center and Carmel areas. She was married February 26, 1919 in Carmel and Mr. Kuyper died June 25, 1950.

Survivors include one son, Guysbert of Denver, Colorado, four daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Nellie) Davisson of Perry, Mrs. Vernon (Elvina) Brunsting of Fulda, Minnesota, Mr. Clayton (Edna) Meyer of Denison and Mrs. Melvin (Violet) Prins of Lakewood, California; one sister, Mrs. William (Cornelia) Feekes of Rock Valley; 21 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
