Gerrit J. Kots, 88, Maurice, died Thursday at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home in Hull.

Services were at 10 a.m. Monday in the Sioux Center Community Center. Leslie Olsen and William Lewis officiated. Burial was in the Sherman Township Cemetery near Maurice.

Mr. Kots was born July 9,1892 to Jan and Ella (Kramer) in Maurice. He married Florence Popma November 27, 1914 in Maurice. They lived in the Maurice area.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, James of Ireton and George of Brehanwood, Wisconsin; seven daughters, Ethel of Maurice, Pearl of Platte, South Dakota:, Mrs. Ted (Esther) Coleman of Hillsboro, North Carolina, Mrs. Don (Rose) Jones of Dumont, lowa, Mrs. Peter (Ruth) Veldkamp of Canton, South Dakota, Mrs. Max (Goldie) Bowman of Elgin, Nebraska, and Mrs. George (Daisy) Headrick of Powersville, Missouri; one brother, John of Orange City; 28 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
