Jacob De Bont died at his home last Monday after a long struggle with tuberculosis. Deceased was forty-one years of age and came to this country from the Netherlands in 1904. After working on a farm for some time he secured a position as shoemaker in the store of De Cook & Brink where he was employed for some years. This position he was obliged to resign some time ago on account of ill health. Deceased is survived by his widow and five children, his father, a sister Mrs. Roos, residing in Chicago, and a brother living in Grand Rapids. The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon and was conducted by Rev. Engelsman in the First Reformed church.
