Catherine Kopp was born December 9, 1843 in Koppelrodeck Grand Duchy of Baden, Germany. She was married to Carl Kopp in 1863. Four children were born to this union: John of Primghar, August of Kimbral, Minnesota, Mrs. Cordula Weiss, who died in 1907 and Sophia who died in infancy. Her husband passed away in 1860. She came to America in 1880 and lived among her children and for the past thirteen years with her children in Primghar.

Relatives who mourn her departure are a brother, two sons, 21 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held at St. Francis Church in Primghar at 9:00 A.M. Reverend A.A. Bausch officiating. Interment was made in the Catholic Cemetery at Granville.
