HENRY M. KORVER DIES FROM HEART ATTACK THURSDAY

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, March 27, at 1:30 o’clock at the First Reformed Church, Orange City, for the late Henry M. Korver, prominent farmer residing north of Alton, who died suddenly at 1:00 P.M. on March 25 from a heart attack after an illness of four days.

Mr. Korver was born on the farm northeast of Alton August 13, 1902, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Korver (nee Jennie Mouw). He married Miss Grace Muyskens December 29, 1928, who survives him. Also surviving are two sons and four daughters as follows: Marvin Korver, Le Mars; Mrs. Roger Peterson (Wilma), Sioux City; Cornelius Korver, Orange City; Mrs. Alvin De Wild (Marlys), Pella; Mrs. Stan Brink (Lorraine), Menomonie, Wisconsin; Mrs. Henry L. De Haan (Loretta), Alton.

Dr. Raymond Van Heukelom and Reverend Robert Bast conducted the funeral services which were in charge of the Van Etten Funeral Home, with burial at West Lawn Cemetery. Special music was furnished by Herbert Rietsma. Pallbearers were Calvin Korver, Arian Korver, Vernon Muilenburg, Howard Haverdink, Kenneth Korver and Cornelius Muyskens.

Mr. Korver was an elder in the First Reformed Church in which he had held membership for many years and was a member of the men’s brotherhood.

He was one of the top notch farmers of the area north of Alton and his farm has always been a show place. Last fall one hand was badly injured in a corn picking accident. He will be sadly missed by a great many friends in addition to his devoted family.
