Mrs. Nick Koob of Granville died Tuesday at the age of 65 after a long illness and hospitalization. Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10 A.M., Reverend N.J. Becker officiating.

Mrs. Koob, the former Irene Perlot, was born March 31, 1902 at Granville, the daughter of pioneer residents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Mike and Mary (Haupert) Perlot. She was married to Nick Koob January 1, 1921 at Granville. Her husband preceded her in death February 18th, 1950. She had been a patient since 1954.

Mrs. Koob for many years assisted her parents in the operation of the Perlot Café and Hotel. After their death she had full management until incapacitated by illness and obliged to close the café.

She was correspondent at Granville for The Democrat and other newspapers of this area, and was most faithful in this duty. Mrs. Koob was a member of the Christian Confraternity of Mothers. She will be missed by hundreds of friends.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Donald Menke of Fort Dodge; a brother, Leroy Perlot of Granville; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
