John Koele, age 69, of Hull, died Saturday, August 5, 1995 at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 8 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Reformed Church in Hull. The Reverend Harold Lenters and the Reverend David Ter Beest officiated. Burial followed at Hope Cemetery in Hull under the direction of the Kraai-Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.

John Arnold was born April 23, 1926 at Hull, the son of Hein and Mary (Roggen) Koele. He was raised at Hull. On August 2, 1950 he married Elsie Boote at Hull. He then served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. From about 1954 to 1988, he operated Hull Feed and Produce.

Mr. Koele was a member of the First Reformed Church where he had served on the consistory as an elder and a deacon. For many years he served on the board of directors of the Hull Building and Loan Association. He also served on the Hull Zoning. Commission and was a member of the Wegman-Koele American Legion Post in Hull.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Darrell Dean, and two brothers, Arie and Gerald.
