FUNERAL RITES FOR BAYARD SWANSON SATURDAY AT HAWARDEN

Funeral services for Bayard A. Swanson, 60, Hawarden, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Dow funeral home there. Rev. Henry Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Grace bill cemetery. Mr. Swanson died Tuesday at a Hawarden hospital. Mr. Swanson was born May 22, 1907, in Des Moines. He moved to Union county in 1922. He married Lillian Abbott Jan. 12, 1928, at Yankton, S.D. They lived on a farm in Union county until 1936 when they moved to Hawarden. He operated a service station in Hawarden for eight years. He worked for the Van Buskirk Construction Co. for 14 years, and for the last two years worked for L. G. Everist Sand and Gravel Co. He was a member of the Big Springs Baptist church.

Survivors are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Wines, Rockville, Md., Mrs. Jeff Dobbs of Anaheim, Calif., and Mrs. Lary Luke of Yankton; three sons, Wayne of Ramona, Calif., Charles of Westminster, Calif., and Larry of Ewo Beach, Hawaii; a brother, Lloyd of Wausa, Neb.; his mother, Mrs. C. O. Swanson of Hawarden; a sister, Mrs. Delphine Olson of Hawarden; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
