Mrs. Tillie Betten, formerly Mrs. Klomp was buried in the Valley View Cemetery on Thursday, May 15, 1941. Mrs. Tillie Betten, age 63, died Sunday evening, May 11 at her home at 824 Oakland Avenue, W. Grand Rapids, Michigan.

She is survived by her husband Henry Betten; four sons and five daughters: Wynand Klomp, Henry Klomp, Mrs. Gertie Smith, Mrs. Marie Otten, Mrs. Johanna Bruins all of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Alice De Vries, Albert and Mace Klomp of Rock Valley; and Mrs. Eveline Berkenpas of Byron Center, Michigan. There are 21 grandchildren, four brothers and one sister: Henry Van Hill of The Netherlands, Dick Van Hill of Darien, Wisconsin, John Van Hill of Orange City, Guy Van Hill of Rock Rapids and Mrs. Marie Pap of Doon.

Mrs. Klomp Betten resided at Rock Valley until about nine years ago moving to Grand Rapids where she married Henry Betten. She came to America from The Netherlands with her family in 1910.

Funeral services were held in Grand Rapids on Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock and then brought to Rock Valley where funeral services were conducted in the Christian Reformed Church at 2 o’clock on Thursday afternoon.
