HENRY KLEINHEKSEL

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, August 16, at 1:30 p.m. for Henry Kleinheksel who passed away in Archer Tuesday evening after suffering a heart attack, at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 8 days.

Reverend G. Vender Wolde of Melvin officiated. "Going Down the Valley One by One," was sung by Mrs. Claus DeVries and Mrs. Herman Tiemens, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Allie Zegers. Burial was made in the family lot at Hospers Cemetery. The following nephews were pallbearers: John Leemkuil, Roy Leemkuil, Joe Harms, Henry Harms, John Brunsting, and Albert Brunsting.

Henry Kleinheksel, son of Henry and Johanna Kleinheksel was born November 7, 1861 at Filmore, Michigan, living there with his parents until the age of 15, at which time they moved to O'Brien County. In 1888 he was united in marriage to Jane Leemkuil of Ostburg, Wisconsin. To this union six children were born. His wife and five children preceded him in death. Surviving is one son, Herman of Primghar.

In 1899 he was married to Mrs. Maggie Koolbeck of Hospers. Surviving besides his wife are Herman of Primghar, (Margie) Mrs. G. W. Ditsworth of Shawnee, Oklahomakl, Cecil of Brookings, South Dakota, Clayton of Dunbar, Iowa, Clifford of Breckinridge, Minnesota, Johnnie of Archer, (June) Mrs. Art Den Hartog of Orange City, Jake Koolbeck of Archer, (Nellie) Mrs. H. B. Freerks of Sioux City and (Jeanette) Mrs. John Hodgdon of Washta, also three brothers, Will of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Hendrics of Castlewood, South Dakota, and Herman of Sioux City, and one sister, Mrs. John Mulder of Castlewood, South Dakota. There are 33 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren besides a host of other relatives and friends.
