Sam Heemskerk, 72, Boyden, died Dec. 19 at the Sheldon hospital after an illness. Services were Tuesday in the First Reformed Church, Boyden. The Rev. Sylvester Moths officiated. Burial was in Boyden Cemetery under direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home, Boyden.

Mr. Heemskerk was born Feb. 22, 1904, in Hull. He married Margaret Uithovem Feb. 7, 1927, in Hills, Minnesota. He was a retired painter.

Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Marion)Zevendergen and Mrs. Gerald (Joan) Vanden Meulenm, both of Ocheyedan; two sons, Wilbur and Marvin, both of Boyden, ten grandchildren, and two great grandchildren
